What product is involved?

The Holmes oil filled heater Models HOH3000 and HOH3000B; the heaters come in black and white. The only products affected have a date code on the heater plug blade within the following range: G192 through G298. No other date codes are affected.

Why are you recalling this product?

The heater may pose a scald hazard due to heated oil spraying out of the Heaters during use.

Where were these products sold?

The heaters were sold in stores from August July, 2014 to November, 2014 for about $49.99.

Can I test the product on my own?

No. For your safety, please stop using the product immediately. Visit us at www.holmesproducts.com or call (800)253-2764 any time for additional instructions. Eligible consumers will receive a recall kit containing a pre-paid label which will facilitate the return of a recall form and the cord (including the plug) from your HOH3000 heater. Once the appropriate contents have been received, a refund in the form of a check will be provided.

How did you become aware of this issue?

The issue came to our attention through reports of incidents.

How can I tell if my product is affected by the recall?

Only Holmes oil filled heaters HOH3000 and HOH3000B, with date codes on the heater plug blade within the following range: G192 through G298, are affected. To find the model number of your heater, please look on the rating label adjacent to the control panel on your heater. Detailed instructions, including photos on how to identify the model number and date code of your heater can be found at www.holmesproducts.com.

How do I tell if my heater isn’t involved in the recall?

Your model is not involved in the recall if the model number DOES NOT contain the characters HOH3000 or if it does not have a date code on the heater plug blade within the following range: G192 through G298.

What do I do if I have a recalled heater?

Please confirm your eligibility in the recall by visiting us at www.holmesproducts.com or by calling (800) 253-2764 anytime for instructions. Eligible consumers will receive a recall kit containing a pre-paid label which will facilitate the return of a recall form and the cord (including the plug) from your HOH3000 heater. Once the appropriate contents have been received, a refund in the form of a check will be provided.

Once I have sent back in my kit with the appropriate contents, how long will it be before I will receive my refund?

Once the kit is received, it will take approximately 10 to 12 weeks to receive your check.

What needs to be returned to JCS?

The recall kit contains a pre-paid label to return the completed form and the power cord (including the plug) of your Model HOH3000 heater. You can find UPS dropoff locations by clicking here.
